I have been a reader for 75 years and my favorite theme is mystery! All I can say is I loved this book. I grew up in Cottage Grove so felt pretty much at home with the plot. Thank you!- Myrtle H.
- Hello, I bought this (Homeless) book from you last wed. in Bandon. I just got started on it, I'm on chap. #4. This is a very interesting tale. I like your writing style. When I’m done with it I’m going to pass it on to someone else, so you’ll become known to my circle just like throwing a stone in a pond of still water. Carry on, Peter M
- Hello Mr. Murphey. You stopped by my house the other day and I purchased your book based on the child murder in Pleasant Hill back in the 60s. I enjoyed it, it is a very good story that I think would lend itself to a movie script. Here's hoping that someday they make a movie of it. Best of success to you in the future.- Logan D.
Trouble at Puma Creek
- I just finished Puma Creek. What a great read! I was up fishing on Salmon Creek above Oakridge last weekend and saw your books in the pizza place in town. I read the back cover of Puma Creek and I knew I had to get it. Plowed through it in a couple days it was so good. I loved all the accuracy and geographical reference. I felt like I knew exactly where everything was taking place. Great writing style you have. Keep up the good work!- Sam O
- I just have to tell you what an enjoyable read your book Trouble at Puma Creek was!! It had me all the way to the end. Wonderful book, characters, story and message. I think I will have to open my eyes to your hunting books too, maybe, just to touch what others have the mind and aptitude to do. Thanks again for a wonderful read, Wesley. I will be starting the Homeless Man's Burden tonight, Yeah!!- Most Sincerely, Terrie M.
- I was reading your book. (Puma Creek) It’s awesome. You are really an awesome writer. I’ve read volumes and volumes of books. I felt like I was in the woods with him. Fantastic. I’m glad to have met you.- Nancy B.
- Just finished reading (Puma Creek) – very well done. Your writing is on a par with today’s best-selling fiction authors. And the setting right here at home in Lane County added a lot to the story. - Regards, Jerry R.
- I purchased two of your books from you when you stopped at my home some months back in Waldport. Anyway, I finally found time to pick one up and read it. I couldn't put it down! Trouble at Puma Creek was spellbinding! Since I am an Oregonian, I am familiar with all the locations used in your novel, which made it even more fun! Plus, I used to be an avid deer hunter (as well as elk and bear), and I know guns, which was another plus for your book. I will be loaning my books to family and friends, as I enjoyed this first book so much. Now on to Kill a Mother-in-Law! Thanks so much and please keep writing!- Gwen L.
- Wesley, A couple of days ago you came to our door with your books. My husband enjoyed visiting with you, and he purchased your Puma Creek book. He is thoroughly enjoying it, and if you are in Redmond again, would be happy to purchase again. His favorite author has previously been Patrick McManus, and he told me that your book is every bit as interesting and well written as Patrick McManus's books. It was a privilege to have you come by and share. God bless you in your work!- Rita and Aaron K
- Dear Mr. Murphey, I just finished "Trouble at Puma Creek" and really enjoyed it. - Gayle M.
- Wesley. I picked up your book at a Military RV park in Arizona. Great read, I enjoyed the twists and suspense that the book delivered. As a Vietnam Vet. myself I have history in Lane County Oregon. Having knowledge in the substance of your book and spending time in Oregon helped me relate to your book. Like I mentioned it’s a great read and I will keep it for my own. You are a super author and I will look for your other books. Thank you for the story. Best Regards.- Jerry R.
- Mr Murphey, All I can say is â fantastic read. Puma creek is absolutely a great story. I couldn’t put it down for any length of time. I live in Eugene and it was fun to picture where everything took place. I too have a fascination with the Viet Nam War. I was a bit too young for that mess, thank God!. I have over 120 books on the subject. Plus, my oldest son retired from 14 years as an Army Ranger with 2nd of the 75th Ranger Regiment. If you have time, I would love to hear from you. I purchased your book at a café in Thayne, Wyoming. Again, thank you for writing the book. I enjoyed it very much. Best Regards- Mark M.
- Not sure if you remember me. You showed up at my house about a week ago here in Pendleton and I told you I don't read books. But my wife does so I bought her A Homeless Man's Burden and I bought Trouble At Puma Creek for me knowing I would never read it. Three days ago I thought I would try reading a page or two. Now, three days later I finished it. I'm 48 years old and the last book I actually read was when I was in 6th grade. My wife was in shock I think that I finished a book. I just want to say you did a fantastic job on that book. You deserve a pat on the back. Keep it up. Russ D

Blacktail Deer Hunting Adventures
- Blacktail Deer Hunting Adventures promises to be well received by deer hunters. His slow and thorough approach allows Murphey lots of time to savor the art of hunting and provides plenty of experiences to talk about. Interwoven among the stories are plenty of his own observations about what works and what doesn’t. Part of the charm of Murphey’s book is that it covers the mistakes he made as a young hunter just getting started. – Mike Stahlberg (Eugene Register-Guard)
- Wes, I met you last week at my house in Florence. I have finished 2 of the 3 books I bought from you- (Blacktail Deer Hunting and Fish, Hunt vol. 1 and vol. 2) Very enjoyable reading....don't be surprised if I order some of your fictional titles- they are interesting. – Dan O.
- Hi, You came into my work sometime within the last year and I bought two of your books. I want to buy one more of the blacktail hunting one and also Fish Hunt and Trap a little volume two. - Vicki C.
- I hadn’t hunted deer in over twenty years, but Blacktail Deer Hunting Adventures inspired me to go this year, and I had a great time. On the second Saturday of deer season, I went with author Wesley Murphey and killed a nice four-point. Jerry E.
- I found Blacktail Deer Hunting Adventures to be relaxing enjoyable reading. Anyone who has ever hunted blacktail deer can relate to this book and can also gain some good hunting lore from reading -it. The book show’s Wes’s love and insight into this wonderful animal and the world it lives in.”- Boyd Iverson (author of Blacktail Trophy Tactics)
- At first the book seems nothing more than a compilation of Murphey’s various hunting escapades. But a closer review shows chapters laced with tidbits and tips taken from personal experiences. Bill Monroe (The Oregonian)
- My husband told me your book was very well written and he really enjoyed it. When you get a compliment out of him you are really doing good. – Sharon T.

I still serve our Military in retirement So! No matter what the book's about buy it if reasonably priced.) SO I did. WOW. Yes I was so caught up in your book Fish, Hunt and trap a little that I finished in two settings. I would like a few more signed copies. The next time you are in Eugene, lunch is on me as a thank you for your service. Bring Fish Hunt and trap a little #2 and Conibear Beaver Trapping in Open Water.- Bert W.

- Hi, Wes: I'm the Dave who bought your (Fish, Hunt vol. 1) book yesterday in Eugene. It's a good read, an easy read. Except for the trapping stories, I felt quite at home. I love water--to drink. It would never do for me to be in a submarine. I like your book a lot. I've been to several places you've mentioned in your book. I've deer hunted on the South Sister--the trails there. I used to live in Wyoming. The Muleys there are a mite larger than these West coast blacktails. The story about the wet sleeping bag is familiar to me, too. If I send you postage and payment, will you mail me other books? Thanks.- Dave P
- Wes, I met you last week at my house in Florence. I have finished 2 of the 3 books I bought from you- (Blacktail Deer Hunting and Fish, Hunt vol. 1) Very enjoyable reading....don't be surprised if I order some of your fictional titles- they are interesting. – Dan O
- Hello, Hey Wesley I would like to start by telling you how much I really enjoy all of your books thus far. I have read several of your books and would like to order more. My first question is this, is Fish, Hunt and Trap a little volume 3 available?- Scott P. (Note from author--- Due to book industry conditions we made the choice to not bring out vol. 3 and to stick with promoting the books we already have out.)
